Jurrasic world. My review

The recent dinosaur movie was fun to watch. I liked the design of their operations center. Dinosaurs were okay.

Good start for the resurrection of the Jurassic age. They need to work harder to capture the collective imagination once more like the original Jurassic movies did.

The makers of this movie need to go back to the stories of the lost world and really read them to understand what the entire world was all about. There was a considerable amount of borrowed themes in this recent movie that worked well for them. The influence of such themes rendered a different character to the whole experience. Not bad entirely. But the feel of the dinosaurs was forced.

The technology was basic, they need to improve on the casting front too.

Rudimentary story-line aside, the cry-save-survive formula has been overused.

Cheers.

Sky-people

Do you know about some special thing; spectacular, mind boggling or even insanely dumb and unique?
Here is an idea: keep it quiet.

The sky-people are on the prowl for unobtainium.

Movies and ads

Was watching this movie in a theatre:

There was a lot of shouting in the drama.

There were many ads.
I enjoyed watching the ads.

The movie was like the inevitable noise that one sometimes hears in a busy bus stop where a just arrived family is trying their best not to kill each other.

It got too real in the second half. There was… Nevermind!

That is where I left the auditorium.

The movie was named: This is where I leave you.

What fun!

Slow mo TV series

There are times when one wonders how much the media we consume shapes our world view. These past few blog posts were about such effects I have observed in the extended family and others around me.

There are these TV series junkies everywhere. The captivating reality that these other worlds present have been getting out of hand lately.

The duck tales and talespin are replaced with something callled ben 10 which I’ll never understand.

Let me pause talking about these types of toons for a minute and tell you an interesting story about a series-watching-aunt that I know of.

It is a well known and well published fact down here in south India that the prime time Tv in the evening is the reason many uncles miss their ideal supper time.

The captivating things these long running series provide to these tired minds is a thing of fascination in itself.

Some observations and analysis:
The ultra slow motion of a villainous looking actress walking down a staircase; suitably fused with a bewildered looking hapless folks waiting patiently at the base; is a thing of genius on the director’ part.

With this single repertoire countless emotions are projected- pity these become the “poor dead horse beaten with a bone dry stick to the depths of hell” in every series that is shown.

I sadly imagine how my aunt who watches will react to reality, How slow must she be wanting to see such a scene in her real life?

If this is the trademark of series made here it aptly ends with a ‘to be continued…’ to keep the fire burning.

These media elements has given rise to a generation of raged niece and nephews who never visit these folks in their old age for fear of having to sit through another daunting episode of such turmoil.

Imagine my pain when I realized the whole neighbourhood and even the state (which speaks the same tongue ) watches these same regional programs religiously.

I maybe quick to judge but there is an element of truth when I say: these programs incite biased judgment about real people.

When this is all you consume every waking hour of your day in a society where others do the same: you’ll have some serious dearth of reality in you.

I imagine how a single dose of lonely dark wilderness will crash their tv reality.

An evil smile spreads across my face as I look up over the spread open comics into which I was immersed just moments ago.

Needless to point out the irony!

Peace.

Particularly spectacular days.

There were days; way back in the past when we would watch good movies in a theatre back home.

Some of my early recollections were of movies that included wild gunmen, dinosaurs, fantasy and modern technology (fictional, of course)

Those days the cost of the tickets started at 5,7,… INR.

One might presume I’m old because of the said denominations but the truth: it was a great little theatre that had a class system built in that accommodated every income bracket.

Theaters back home usually were places that had a dingy feel to it, but not this one.

This was a charming, clean and an airy place. Knee length green grass grew on the premises.

The view of freshly wet grass in the glowing rays of sunshine after a sudden rain in the afternoon, viewed with eyes newly re-adjusting to light during the intermission was something I have to share.

The glinting droplets of water on the green of the grass refreshes your mind in an instant.

This being a quaint little town there was the defining chimney with smoke in a rundown place in the neighborhood.

Spires of the churches and other buildings of ancient repute provided the charming backdrop.

Burning its image into my mind forever.

And as is the case with nostalgic memories the grass, the smoke and the very essence of that scene; shining about by the light of the lazy afternoon is but a memory and a dear one at that.

Did you ever wonder what Heroes do for a living?

Been watching a few latest episodes of  Heroes.

Was just wondering what they do for a living.
We know chasing villains is all that they do?
Granted Ando and Hiro carry on the Nakamura enterprise but
what about the rest of Heroes?

I don’t see them making a living.

What the heck
I just enjoy the twists at every corner.

—spoiler alert—–

The prison break guys are seriously off the track.
Why should Scofield’s mother be alive?

The series should be renamed to Company break.
They have exhausted their prisons now.

Busy week but there is always time for fun.

The end of sem is here: 4 more days till we put an end to this.
We still have our zero review, practicals and then the sem exams.

Been a long time since I went home.

Could not get a full sem project. That would have been nice; no more subjects to take in that case.

Have to brush up a little on C# and other ignored languages before the practicals though.

Currently reading Doctors-Erich Segal: Classy as usual.

Will move towards War and Peace after finishing this.

Currently watching Fate-Stay Night. Well… so far so good.

Counter strike still rocks. Its most fun playing with fellas.
